In a landmark Climate Action Plan, the City of San Diego came together to declare a bold goal – by 2035, our grid is going to be 100% renewable. Seen by some as a mechanism to increase renewables, many city and county governments across the state and the nation are either considering or have already taken control of purchasing power from local utilities through what’s been called “Community Choice Aggregation,” or CCAs. Ultimately, CCAs are inherently about control, but advocates are saying it’s what San Diego needs to do to get to 100% renewable. Scott Lewis, President and CEO of Voice of San Diego, recently described CCAs by saying “It might seem complicated right now, but I don’t see anything on San Diego’s horizon that will more dramatically alter public affairs than this.”

Join us at our second of two workshops as we hear from experts with different perspectives, as we dig deep, cut through the rhetoric, and – together – identify what is best for our businesses, our residents, and our region.
