California American Water
California American Water provides water service in Coronado, Imperial Beach and to about 10,000 homes in the City of San Diego. It is a CPUC-regulated, investor-owned utility. Statewide, it provides service to about 600,000 Californians in Los Angeles, Monterey, Placer, Sacramento, San Diego, Sonoma and Ventura Counties.
A recent Union-Tribune article recognized California American Water for having among the lowest water rates in San Diego County.
Customers of California American Water can pay bills or pick up free conservation devices – and schedule a water use audit – at the local office at 1019 Cherry Avenue in Imperial Beach.
California American Water is active in the community and is a supporter of the Coronado Schools Foundation, YMCA, Sand Castle Tournament, and numerous other events throughout the year. In September alone, employees helped transplant 6,000 plants to improve the watershed at Border Fields State Park, and on Coastal Clean Up Day they assisted WiLDCOAST in picking up 3 tons of garbage in the Tijuana River Valley.
Their California headquarters is at 1033 B Avenue in Coronado, and they are a part of American Water, the nation’s largest investor-owned water and waste water company. More information is available at www.californiaamwater.com.
