The San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce is currently hiring for the following position(s): 

Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager is responsible for promoting the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, cultivating and obtaining new members, selling upgrades to existing members, increasing sales revenue on a regular basis, working with Membership to prevent client attrition and to collect on past due accounts maintaining an ethical and professional relationship with members, prospects and internal contacts.

We are seeking a salesperson that is both experienced and undaunted using the telephone. Has an understanding of the many challenges facing a typical small business. And, is familiar with how email marketing, CRM and other technology can help a business differentiate from the competition. This position is compensated through salary and commission

The Chamber has supported businesses in this region for over 140 years. Business Development Managers (BDM’s) are responsible for cultivating relationships with local and regional businesses resulting in their joining the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce as members. BDM’s responsibilities include:

•Engaging prospects in needs based selling;

•Interaction with current Chamber members;

•Event attendance;

•Entering data into a Contact Management system;

•Proven telephone and face-to-face selling skills.

To apply applicant must be qualified with the following:

•Strong computer skills including MS Word and Outlook;

•2-3 years proven sales background;

•Excellent oral and written communication skills;

•High school diploma a must; Bachelor’s degree is highly preferred.
