Downtown San Diego Partnership

Alexandra Berenter is the Director of Public Affairs at the Downtown San Diego Partnership, a nonprofit organization that supports redevelopment, stimulates business and economic growth, and advocates for improvements that enhance Downtown San Diego’s quality of life. In her current role, she leads the organization’s public policy efforts, develops strategic partnerships to foster economic progress downtown, and directs advocacy strategy on behalf of the 11,000 property owners and 400 business members the Partnership represents. Prior to joining the Partnership, Alexandra spent six years working as congressional staff in Washington, D.C., where she managed a diverse legislative portfolio and was responsible for the tracking, analysis, and drafting of federal legislation, and development of strategy to achieve successful policy outcomes. A native San Diegan, Alexandra is a member of the LEAD Advance Class of 2018, and serves as a board member of the Regional Task Force on the Homeless, an advisory board member of the San Diego County Taxpayers Association, and the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Public Policy Committee. While earning her degree in Political Science at Washington University in St. Louis, Alexandra was a member of the NCAA Women’s Softball team.
