David Yow

Port of San Diego

Sacramento Delegation Attendee 2020

David Yow is a policy communicator, and serves as Legislative Policy Administrator for the Port of San Diego. In that role, he comes alongside internal and external stakeholders, aligns legislative and regulator interests, and translates Port District policy priorities into legislative action in a way that recognizes that good politics is about addition, not subtraction. And, he’s been a legislative geek for a while so it’s nice put that knowledge to use somewhere other than dinner parties. A lifelong Californian, he has experience in both the public and private sectors, served as a legislative and state employee, but his earliest love was local politics. His first precinct walked was for a non-partisan judge candidate; his first internship was in high school -- splitting his time between a city manager’s office and the nearest chapter of the League of Women Voters -- and his first wallet photo was a picture of the White House. And he still reads the voter information pamphlet cover to cover. David is proud to serve on a brilliant team of professionals who love San Diego. Currently, he works with various Port District departments on preparing legislative priorities for the Port District to pursue in 2019. He also enjoys spending time with his family and making music in the San Diego Master Chorale.
