Business Customer Clean Energy Financing – SDG&E Community Meeting

May 18 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Event Navigation

On May 18, 2022, SDG&E will host a community meeting to present its clean energy financing proposal. SDG&E is proposing a new financing program to help business customers purchase and install heat-pump water heater and space heating technologies.
Attend our upcoming community meeting to learn how the proposed program would benefit businesses across the region. Give us your feedback on the program to enable businesses to install the latest technologies.
We will discuss how 0% financing, managed through your utility bill, combined with incentives and credits can help offset upfront installation costs when replacing natural gas equipment with electric heat pump technology.
Please forward this invitation to businesses that might be interested in helping shape this program and learn more about this proposal.
We are looking forward to your attendance on May 18. The call-in information will be provided on May 17 as part of your confirmation email.
Summary of Proposed Program:
SDG&E’s Clean Energy Financing (CEF) proposal is for a financing mechanism that goes beyond current offerings to reduce barriers for small and medium business customers when installing heat-pump water and space heating fuel-substitution technologies. The proposal includes on-bill, zero-percent financing along with incentives to offset higher upfront installation costs when replacing gas equipment with electric heat pump technology including panel upgrades to further prepare customers for additional technologies that may contribute to the state’s GHG reduction goals. The proposed program will utilize funding from various sources including the State General Fund. Note that this proposal is in addition to the continuation of the On-Bill Financing (OBF) and GoGreen Financing Pilot Programs included in SDG&E’s energy efficiency business plan application submitted on March 4, 2022, Pursuant to Decision 21-05-031.
