A Look Into Baja California’s Upcoming Elections
On June 2, state and local elections will take place in six Mexican states including Baja California, which will elect a new Governor, five local Mayors, and 25 state representatives. This election marks the first time members of the state legislature and Mayors are able to run for re-election in Mexico.
At our upcoming Cross-Border Business Forum on May 29, we will discuss where candidates in these races stand on Baja California’s cross-border priorities. We will look at issues such as facilitating infrastructure, growing our binational economy, innovation, tourism, addressing environmental issues, and exploring more opportunities to strengthen the bilateral relationship.
With a $255 billion economy and a large, educated, and highly skilled workforce, the Cali-Baja region represents tremendous growth opportunities for businesses on both sides of the border. We not only have an integrated economy, we share a workforce, history and culture. Decisions made by elected leaders in Mexico, also impacts San Diego. We are pleased to offer a forum where the binational business community can hear about various candidates and their perspectives on the issues that impact all of us.
