Cross-Border Business Forum

November 1, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Event Navigation

Baja California Property Development, Opportunities, and Investment

Baja California real estate is booming with industrial, commercial, and residential construction projects.  A 5 percent vacancy rate in the industrial sector, a large highly skilled workforce, an abundance of jobs, and a thriving economy due to growth in sectors such as medical tourism, IT and manufacturing, have created the perfect storm for Tijuana and Baja California real estate. This new real estate landscape opens the door to numerous investment and business opportunities in the region.

Our upcoming Cross-Border Business Forum on November 1st   will host an expert panel discussion on the current trends in property development in Baja California, the business and investment opportunities it brings and the impact it will have on cross-border commerce.

Our panel will feature experts in their fields answering some key questions around this topic such as:

  • What are the investment opportunities and business trends in real estate and property development in Baja California?
  • What is the future of commercial and residential property development and what opportunities will it bring to our Cali-Baja regional economy?
  • What role can Tijuana and Baja-California play in San Diego’s business development, the housing crisis, and economic growth?

As a Center of Excellence within the School of Business at the University of San Diego, the mission of the Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate (BMC) is to help recruit, educate and mentor real estate students with the goal of facilitating their career pursuits in a socially responsible manner and with a global perspective. We accomplish this mission through support of outstanding faculty and professional staff, dedicated career services, active industry involvement and outreach, and relevant and applied research. The center provides course offerings to real estate professionals at all levels of career development through various academic and extracurricular programs, including the Master of Science in Real Estate (MSRE) program at the graduate level.  The BMC staff and affiliated faculty actively expand and support the program’s academic curriculum while simultaneously creating a wide range of career-oriented opportunities for students outside of the classroom. The center’s initiatives are industry-oriented and maximize students’ opportunities to get involved directly in the real estate industry, both in the classroom and in extracurricular programs. The center also hosts informative industry-oriented conferences on a variety of commercial and residential real estate topics throughout the year.
