San Diego Young Leaders Meeting & Mixer
March 27 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Join fellow San Diego Young Leaders for networking, appetizers, and beverages provided by Cutwater Spirits, and Truly Fine Wine, then settle in for a short program to discuss all things HOUSING. We will hear from:
Jerry Sanders, President & CEO of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce;
Councilmember Chris Cate of San Diego District 6;
Stefanie Benvenuto, Public Policy Advisor at San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce;
Chancellor Mike Cunningham from the National University System;
and Dr. David Andrews, President of National University.
Attendees will also be asked to provide feedback and their own stories about how San Diego’s housing shortage has affected them. Questions will include:
- 41% of homeowners and 57% of renters are spending more than 30% of their income on housing in San Diego. How do you fit into these figures?
- In May 2017, the median price for a single-family home in San Diego County was $612,500. If you are not a homeowner, what is preventing you from becoming one?
- If you’re looking to purchase a home within the next 3-5 years, what will help you achieve homeownership, and what kind of home would you most want to buy?
- What would you like your city council or state elected officials to know about how housing prices, driven up by a lack of housing supply, affects you and your family?
