Caroline Winn, 2020 Chair
Chief Executive Officer
Caroline Winn is Chief Executive Officer for San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E), one of Sempra Energy’s regulated California utilities. Sempra Energy is a San Diego-based energy services holding company whose subsidiaries provide electricity, natural gas and value-added products and services.
Caroline has over three decades of experience in the energy industry. She became CEO of SDG&E in August 2020. Previously, she served as the chief operating officer of SDG&E, overseeing operations of the utility’s gas and electric infrastructure assets, and customer services. In that role, Winn is widely recognized for SDG&E’s national leadership in sustainability, technology and innovation, including the company’s significant safety and wildfire mitigation efforts.
Caroline sits on the board of directors for Veloz, Monarch School and Smart Electric Power Alliance; the executive council for Western Energy Institute; and serves on the Scripps Institute of Oceanography-Director’s Council. She has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from California State University Sacramento and is a registered professional engineer in the state of California.
2020 Management Council
The Chamber’s Management Council is composed of 13 members of its Board of Directors. Management Council’s primary responsibilities are the oversight of the business and operations of the Chamber, such as the hiring of staff and entering into contracts. Management Council also sets the agenda of the full Board of Directors. The Chair and Vice Chair of Management Council are also the Chair and Vice Chair of the Board of Directors.
