Extreme San Diego was founded in 2015 to bring sports and entertainment events to the San Diego area.  In early 2016 Extreme San Diego received a five-year commitment from Extreme Sailing Series™ to bring one of the Extreme Sailing Series™ events to San Diego, beginning October of 2017.  Working with the San Diego Tourism Authority and the San Diego Unified Port District, a collaborative relationship developed, enabling ample support for the inaugural affair.

The Extreme Sailing Series™ is globally recognized as an action-packed ‘stadium-style’ race series since its inception in 2007. Not only will this be the first time San Diego plays host to the event, but this will also be the West Coast’s debut to the circuit, making this specific tour stop even more anticipated.

Over the course of four days, Harbor Island will be transformed into a festival-style event village. Racing will take place directly on the waterfront affording ample viewing from any direction.

Local food trucks, craft beer tents, and interactive areas such as the US Sailing Education Zone and the Cox Communications Kids Zone presented by Rady Children’s Hospital will provide recreation for everyone.

Due to the five year contract with the Extreme Sailing Series™, Extreme San Diego also looks to capitalize on bringing other projects in the sports and entertainment area to San Diego.
