SDYL had its first General Meeting on Wednesday, February 19 at Seasons 52 in Seaport Village. Chair Melanie Woods and Chamber President & CEO Jerry Sanders welcomed returning and new members. The meeting started off with an informative panel discussion on homelessness, common misconceptions, and resolutions that both policy makers and organizations are working to address.

The panel was moderated by former SDYL Board Member Marshall Anderson of the Downtown San Diego Partnership and featured panelists Lisa Jones, Senior Vice President, Homeless Housing Innovations Division, San Diego Housing Commission; Hanan Scrapper, Director of Programs, PATH San Diego; and Alana Kalinowski, Director of Partner Integration, 2-1-1 San Diego.

The SDYL Board will have its second quarter meeting on Wednesday, April 1, 2020.

In other SDYL news, former U.S. soccer player and Executive Vice President of the San Diego Loyal Soccer club, Landon Donovan was announced as this year’s Honorary Chair. He is set to meet the Young Leaders at the next General Meeting in April.
