San Diego’s Registrar of Voters pegged the region’s voter turn-out for the presidential election between 80 and 85 percent, setting a new county record. For context, in the 2018 gubernatorial election, the region’s turnout was 66 percent, presenting a major gap in participation. The voters’ preferences didn’t send many shock-waves, as outcomes were predictably left-leaning, following similar registration trends. However, thanks to the high number of mail-in ballots, election results were available quickly and may set interesting trends for future elections. The Chamber was pleased to have many of our endorsed elected officials and ballot measures be successful. Congratulations to all the winners and the teams that worked to get them there.
