San Diego Housing Updates

Nearly two years since its passage, City of San Diego’s Complete Communities has four projects funded, with another 10 currently awaiting approval. In total, these projects could bring 864 homes to the region.

The County of San Diego has approved funding for five different affordable housing developments. Running from Carlsbad to National City and locations in between, the funds will help create over 250 units that will be restricted based on income.

The City of San Diego’s Planning Commission voted to support Build Better SD. Build Better SD is a citywide initiative to enable the faster delivery of

public spaces and buildings equitably and sustainably across San Diego. According to the City of San Diego’s website the initiative will set clear policies intended to create more opportunities for innovative, culturally relevant and interactive public spaces by prioritizing investments in areas where the needs are greatest—streamlining the delivery of more infrastructure, to more people, more quickly.
