Following the Chamber’s delegation to Washington, D.C., the Chamber convened a stakeholder meeting with U.S. Customs and Border Protection Executive Assistant Commissioner Diane Sabatino and San Diego Director of Field Operations Sidney Aki.
Key priorities for the meeting included updates on the Otay Mesa East land port of entry and advancing two new projects: the San Diego-Ensenada binational ferry connecting both maritime ports to promote and enhance tourism; and an expedited, on-arrival scheduling crossing at PedEast in San Ysidro.
Both projects are the product of a new partnership between Baja California state authorities and CBX. We will continue to work closely with CBP, regional authorities, and business partners from both sides of the border to advance projects and policies that further connect our communities and increase port of entry efficiencies.
