The County Board of Supervisors unanimously adopted the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 budget on June 25th. The $8.53B budget is the largest County budget in history and took effect on July 1st. The Board of Supervisors added about $46M to the original budget that was proposed in May, with major increases to public safety and homelessness needs. The adopted budget is 4.5% larger than the previous year’s, adding $364.5M in spending and 72 new county jobs. Public safety departments at the County are receiving about $2.8B, Health and Human Services are receiving $3.4B, $98.7M is going to support at-risk populations including $15M for the Regional Homeless Assistance Program, and $267 is allocated for infrastructure and stormwater projects.
