VP of International and Public Affairs Kenia Zamarripa, in her role as Vice Chair of the Border Trade Alliance (BTA), traveled to Washington D.C. to attend the BTA’s Board Meeting and 11th Annual Building a Competitive U.S.-Mexico Border Conference In addition to meetings with Congressmembers and other federal agencies, she moderated a panel on transboundary resource sharing that covered water, energy, and infrastructure policy. The conversation took a deep dive into strategies in partnership with industry and other stakeholders to advance policies and efforts to promote efficient resource sharing that maximizes our potential as a North American trade block.
In other joint efforts, the Chamber also hosted BTA Mexico’s Board meeting, which included presentations from key stakeholders from south of the border such as Baja’s Secretary of Economy and Innovation Kurt Honold and representatives from the state’s manufacturing association and business council. We look forward to continued collaboration with BTA, both the U.S. and Mexico chapters, to drive our region’s global competitiveness.
