The California State Legislature reconvened on Monday, August 18^th, resuming for the final weeks of the 2025 legislative cycle, with September 12^th being the last day for each house to pass bills. Once bills pass the houses, Governor Newsom has until October 12^th to veto bills passed by the legislative bodies. The Chamber team is engaging on 30+ bills that are still active in the capital which would impact our local economy and various industries from housing to healthcare. Of these over 30 bills, the team has identified the following 7 bills as priority bills for the remainder of the state legislative session:

  • SB 80 (Caballero): The Fusion Research and Development Hub Innovation Program
  • AB 470 (McKinnor): Telecommunications
  • AB 30 (Alvarez & Flora): State air Resources Board: gasoline specifications: ethanol blends
• Opposition
  • AB 1331 (Elhawary): Workplace Surveillance
  • AB 446 (Ward): Surveillance Pricing
  • AB 1415 (Bonta): California Health Care Quality and Affordability Act
• Neutral Position, Supporting On-going Amendments to Cleanup Previous Legislation
  • AB 735/SB 415(Carillo/Reyes): Planning and zoning: logistics use developments: truck routes.
