The Chamber, in partnership with the Consulate of Mexico in San Diego and COPARMEX Tijuana, hosted a Cross-Border Network of Businesswomen in recognition of International Women’s Month.
The event featured a panel discussion with Ambassador Alicia Kerber Palma, Consul General of Mexico in San Diego; Elisa Ibañez, President of COPARMEX Tijuana, and Kenia Zamarripa, Vice President of International and Public Affairs for the Chamber, who spoke on empowering cross-border women entrepreneurs. The conversation explored the personal journeys, mentorship, and educational experiences that have shaped their careers in traditionally male-dominated industries. Panelists reflected on structural changes needed to expand access to leadership opportunities for women and how they incorporate a gender perspective.
This conversation builds on the collaborative efforts formalized through the Chamber’s Memorandum of Understanding with the Consulate of Mexico in San Diego and with COPARMEX. We look forward to expanding these partnerships and continuing the dialogue through future initiatives, including a second Voices in Leadership event later this year.
