The San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce was proud to celebrate alongside Arevon Energy this week as the company marked the completion of its 300 MW Nighthawk Energy Storage Project in Poway. It’s the largest standalone battery storage project in Arevon’s portfolio, and it’s now online and ready to strengthen the grid right here in our region.
Nighthawk can power up to 385,000 homes during peak demand, a significant boost to reliability for San Diego families and businesses. Beyond the megawatts, the project is expected to generate more than $30 million in property tax revenue over its lifetime, dollars that will support local schools, public safety, and infrastructure for years to come.
President and CEO Chris Cate joined project partners, elected officials, and community leaders at the on-site ribbon-cutting to celebrate the milestone.
“Reliable renewable energy infrastructure is the foundation for long-term economic growth. Projects like Nighthawk help San Diego stay ahead of rising energy demand while strengthening the grid resilience that attracts employers, supports innovation, and keeps our region competitive. Arevon’s investment here in Poway reflects exactly the kind of partnership between infrastructure, business, and community that the Chamber is proud to champion.” — Chris Cate, President & CEO, San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce
Congratulations to the entire Arevon team on bringing this project to life, and thank you for continuing to invest in San Diego’s economic future.
