Karen Higareda

Woodward Logistics

Born in San Diego and raised in Tijuana, Karen Higareda is proud to be a binational citizen at the busiest land border in the world and the most significant border crossing in the western hemisphere. She has a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Universidad Iberoamericana Tijuana, and a Masters of Science in Architecture with emphasis in Landscape and Urbanism from Woodbury University, San Diego. She is currently the Operations Director North America Division at Woodward Logistics in San Diego California, a company that provides Mexican Customs Brokerage and Logistics Services with more than eight decades of experience. Karen is interested in border issues and bilateral trade relations between Mexico and the US; and she currently serves as Chair at the International Business Affairs Committee from the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce. On a community level, she firmly believes that youth empowerment is essential in our community. She is proudly an ambassador and founding member at the Circle of Influence at the David's Harp Foundation, a San Diego based non-profit organization that inspires, educate and empower at-risk and homeless youth to achieve academic success through music education, sound engineering, and multimedia production. Circle of Influence is a group made up of professional women of different backgrounds contributing to finding solutions to support the students and fundraising the program.
