Beth Smits

Intuit Consumer Group

Beth Smits is Vice President of Customer Success for the Consumer Group at Intuit, Inc. In this role, she oversees thousands of care agents for the company’s award-winning TurboTax, Turbo, and Mint products. She also oversees the CPA tax agents for TurboTax Live. Before joining Intuit, Ms. Smits held a number of senior leader roles at Best Buy. Starting in 2006 as Vice President of Geek Squad Operations, she led the team to become the most profitable business unit within the company. She also grew the Geek Squad online service business from 20 employees to more than 250 in 18 months, creating a more than $150 million revenue stream for the company and achieving a 4.9/5 star customer service rating. She was then tapped as the Vice President of Inventory Optimization. In the role, she created a roadmap to deliver $300 million of incremental profit through dramatic process and operational improvements in the end-to-end management of nearly $4 billion product returns.  After six years in the position, she was selected to serve as the Vice President for the New Strategic Growth Transformation Office responsible for bringing growth opportunities and businesses to life across the company. Ms. Smits’ background also includes 10 years with Accenture, where she focused on customer relationship management (CRM), manufacturing processes, systems design, and implementation. Ms. Smits earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Marquette University in Wisconsin. Making community service a priority, she has served in multiple roles on the Minnesota Council Board of Directors for Camp Fire USA and acted as a mentor/tutor for Common Bond Communities, the largest nonprofit provider of affordable homes for families, seniors, and individuals with disabilities in the upper Midwest. She currently sits on the board of directors for the YWCA Minneapolis. Ms. Smits is in the process of relocating to San Diego with her husband, Todd, and they are enjoying all the outdoor activities Southern California has to offer.
