Policy Advisor Evan Strawn participated in a roundtable discussion alongside Congressman Scott Peters and biotech experts, labor leaders, and patient advocates to discuss the state of the life science industry in San Diego. The conversation, which was put on by We Work for Health and Biocom California, touched on the goals and challenges that different industry leaders anticipate over the coming decade and reviewed needed policy changes for ensuring a continued robust life sciences industry in San Diego. Evan represented the local business community and expressed the need for policies that ensure innovation in the biotech sector remains possible and advocated for land use decisions that ensure San Diego remains an attractive life sciences destination for companies. The panel also provided an opportunity for the attendees to express their gratitude to Congressman Peters for his life sciences related work at the federal level and check in with him on healthcare and patient priorities pending in Washington, D.C.
