Amber Ter-Vrugt

Scripps Health | Senior Director, Government Relations

Amber joined the Scripps Health family in January of 2014 and serves as senior director, government relations. Amber is responsible for educating elected officials and regulators on the unique issues facing Scripps Health and tax-exempt health systems in the State of California in alignment with Scripps mission and corporate priorities. Amber represents Scripps with industry associations, public issue groups, and regional business, civic and community-based organizations. She also manages Scripps’ community relations program in coordination with corporate and marketing priorities. Prior to joining Scripps, Amber had been practicing public affairs in Southern California for 12 years. Some of Amber’s responsibilities in her career have included; grass-roots coalition building, crisis preparation and management, event coordination, political campaign management and strategy, media relations, government relations and community outreach. She has represented organizations in public, private and non-profit sectors, including but not limited to: Scripps Health, Sempra Energy, SDG&E, The Gas Company, LA Unified School District, Lockheed Martin, the County of Riverside, Bright Source Energy, Lewis Family of Companies, Brookfield, GE and Calpine Energy. Currently, Amber serves in the following leadership roles: Chair of the Board for the Vista Chamber of Commerce, Vice Chair of Cal State San Marcos’ University Council, and member of the board of the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Amber, her husband Alex and son Ty reside in San Marcos, CA.
