Gary Clark is Vice President of Major Projects for NV5’s Power Delivery Group, where he leads engineering and design teams on a variety of fire hardening, wildfire mitigation, and grid resiliency solutions. NV5 is a global engineering, consulting, and technology firm; with offices and projects across the State of California. NV5 recently acquired the largest geospatial firm in North America, Quantum Spatial,  and have developed new technological approaches to assess and manage fire risk, including the innovative integration of LiDAR and customized geospatial tools.  Gary is a licensed Professional Electrical Engineer, in California and 7 other states, with more than 16 years of experience working both at and for electric utilities across the country. Gary is an expert in fire hardening and wildfire mitigation engineering and consulting services. His experience includes serving in lead engineering and project management roles for several of SDG&E’s programs: Fire Risk Mitigation (FiRM), Pole Risk Mitigation and Engineering (PRiME), Camp Pendleton Wood-to-Steel Fire Hardening Program, Corrective Maintenance Program (CMP), Cleveland National Forest (CNF) Power Line Replacement, and Wire Safety Enhancement (WiSE). He also recently served as the Qualified Independent Evaluator for the City of Riverside Public Utilities’ (RPU) Wildfire Mitigation Plan (WMP). Gary currently serves as the Standards Chair of IEEE’s Insulated Conductors Committee (ICC), which develops and maintains standards that are critical to the safe and successful operations of electric utilities and consumers across the world.   Gary received a MS in Engineering Management from Penn State University, a BS in Computer Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology, and a Certificate in Disaster Management for Power Systems from Texas A&M.
