Gaylene Xanthopoulos is a businesswoman, facilitator, speaker, published author, and founder of The Leadership Edge. She has differentiated herself through her tremendous understanding of the life sciences industry, expertise in leadership and management and, more specifically, her ability to address the unique leadership challenges faced by women. Over the past 25 years, The Leadership Edge has assisted life science companies to reach their highest potential through the development and delivery of industry-specific professional development programs in the areas of leadership, management, and teaming. The Leadership Edge has developed a management program that has successfully enhanced the management skills of over 4,000 scientific leaders from over 400 life science companies. Ms. Xanthopoulos holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, and she is a certified Myers-Briggs practitioner. Her personal accomplishments include being awarded Athena San Diego’s 2013 Pinnacle Award in the category “Individual in Services” for her role in the development and advancement of skilled and talented women within the San Diego community; “World Sales Leader of the Year” by Leadership Management, Inc. two years in a row; being named a winner of the San Diego Business Journal’s “Business Management Award” in their Women Who Mean Business competition; and in the following year, the San Diego Business Journal also named her as one of the “Top 50 Companies in San Diego”. Ms. Xanthopoulos is an in-demand speaker for national and international business conferences, as well as a published author of training materials, articles, and several books used today by some of the nation’s top executives. She is also the immediate past President of The Gillispie School Board of Trustees.
