James Hauser is currently Chief of Staff for Councilmember Chris Cate, serving since 2014. James has been involved in many successful local and statewide election campaigns, including working as Deputy Campaign Manager in Kevin Faulconer’s successful mayoral campaign in 2014, and managing the successful gubernatorial 2016 election of Doug Burgum in North Dakota. James has lived in San Diego since 2007. He graduated from the University of California, San Diego where he received a degree in Political Science. James serves on the Board of Directors for the San Diego Chamber Young Leaders and was selected by Our City San Diego as a top 21 emerging leader in the San Diego region. James currently lives in Normal Heights with his significant other, Cassandra Weinlein, and his lovable dog, Monster.
