Jerry Butkiewicz

San Diego County Water Authority

Jerry Butkiewicz was seated on the Water Authority Board of Directors on December 5, 2016, representing the City of San Diego. Director Butkiewicz resides in San Diego with his wife and is retired from Sempra Utilities as a workforce readiness manager. He was elected as the Secretary-Treasurer of the Labor Council in 1996 and reelected in 2000 and 2004 and also served as the executive officer of the Labor Council for nearly 12 years, striving to provide all Californians with a fair wage, affordable health care and a safe working environment. In addition, he was active in the San Diego Greater Chamber of Commerce, United Way of San Diego, the San Diego Workforce Partnership, the Environmental Health Coalition and the State Workforce Investment Board. He is currently the Vice Chair of the Water Authority Legislative and Public Outreach Committee, and a member of Engineering and Operations Committee and San Vicente Energy Storage Task Force.
