Councilmember John Masson

City of Escondido | San Diego County Water Authority

John Masson was seated on the Water Authority Board of Directors on January 9, 2019, representing the city of Escondido. He currently serves on the Imported Water and Legislation and Public Outreach Committees. John was elected to the Escondido City Council in 2012 and served as Deputy Mayor 2016 to 2018. He is the Chair of the Palomar College Foundation, a League of California Cities representative, former Chair of the Escondido Sunrise Rotary Club, and former Chair of the Escondido Chamber of Commerce. John is the President of Masson & Associates, a family-owned civil engineering and land surveying business that was started in 1978 by John’s father. He is a graduate of Palomar College and Cal State University Chico and his hobbies include martial arts, four wheeling, motocross, mountain biking and surfing.
