Sara Steinhoffer

Sharp HealthCare | VP of Government Relations

Sara Steinhoffer is the Vice President of Government Relations for Sharp HealthCare, representing the interests of the region’s largest healthcare provider at the federal, state and local levels of government. In this capacity, she was the recipient of the 2013 American Hospital Association Grassroots Champion Award. She formerly provided governmental and community liaison for UC San Diego’s main campus, medical center and school of medicine. Sara began her professional career in Washington, D.C. as staff to two Members of the California Congressional delegation. She left Capitol Hill to promote the concerns of the nation’s top aerospace manufacturers, primarily in the area of procurement policy. She is an active member of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, and is immediate past chair of its Healthcare Committee. She chairs the political action committee for the California Hospital Association where she also serves on the Public Advocacy Board. She is also a board member for San Diegans for Health Care Coverage and the San Diego Metro Community Development Corporation. Sara has a history of engagement in efforts to promote women in the sciences and elected and appointed offices through organizations such as the San Diego Science Alliance, California Women Lead and Leadership California.
