As the Chief Executive Officer of Walden Family Services, Teresa Stivers oversees all development campaigns and is responsible for providing direction and leadership toward the achievement of the agency’s mission, vision, values, and strategy, and its annual goals and objectives. Prior to Walden, she was a Program Director and Executive Director for the Child Abuse Prevention Foundation (CAPF), where she oversaw all staff and programs. Her tireless dedication to working on behalf of children in San Diego County helped launch and establish many signature programs, including the Guardian Scholars Program and Mary’s House, a transitional living program for former foster youth. While working for former San Diego Mayor Susan Golding as Deputy Chief of Staff, Ms. Stivers honed her expertise in program management. There she advised the Mayor on city, state and national issues. Her experience in public relations includes as an Account Executive at Nuffer, Smith, Tucker, where she worked on accounts such as the California Fluid Milk Processor’s Board (Got Milk?), the California Dietetic Association and the American Institute of Wine and Food. Currently, Stivers is Chair of the Education and Workforce Committee of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce; Chair on the Quality of Life Committee of the San Diego Taxpayers Association; a Strong Families, Thriving Communities Steering Committee member of the Clinton Foundation’s Health Matters Initiative; and serves as a Executive Committee member of UCSD Chancellor’s Community Advisory Board.
