Shortly after the pandemic began in 2020, the Chamber – together with our partners at the San Diego Tourism Authority, San Diego Regional EDC, University of San Diego, and Deloitte – began work on a long-term economic recovery initiative we called Back in Business. The group has worked diligently to research the economic impact of COVID-19 on the region, develop an economic recovery framework with tactical recommendations for businesses, and identify ways in which the government and private sector can work together to ensure a more resilient economy. Through Back in Business we are communicating with businesses, and also with policy makers, to identify short, mid, and long term strategies for recovery.

Back In Business Report

Released on February 1, 2021, the Back in Business report includes recommendations for business, policy recommendations for government, and is informed by the experience and expertise of our organizations’ members from various sectors.
