All Our Talent: Boards & Commissions Workshop – October 14, 2022
Gain the knowledge, inspiration, and background to develop an effective and persuasive board profile and make the most of your profile on theBoardlist so companies searching for talent find you. This interactive, virtual workshop focuses on city, county and nonprofit board and commissions. Participants gained concrete tools for how to position themselves for board seats and how to showcase their expertise to a company or organization looking to add board members. Featured speakers included Wendy Urushima-Conn, President and CEO of the Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego County, Andrew Potter, Executive Officer/Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, and Chida Warren-Darby, Director of Appointments/Boards and Commissions, City of San Diego.
On June 18, the Chamber held a statewide, virtual conversation focused on the dynamic challenge of increasing the number of women serving at the board level of public and private companies, nonprofit organizations, and government commissions throughout California.
This event brought together city chambers from around the state, business leaders, advocates, and experts to share what is working, where we can identify talented women from diverse backgrounds and experiences to serve, and develop next steps so that business is seen as a champion for board diversity and inclusion work.
