New legislation went into effect specifying lactation policies for employees. All California businesses, except those which have proactively pursued and have been awarded an exemption, must abide by Labor Code Section 1030. The new law outlines time for employees to express milk, minimum requirements for the designated space, and streamlined accommodation requests.
