CalOSHA’s board decided last week to table proposed changes to the Emergency Temporary Standards that have sweeping impacts for employers statewide. The Chamber team was among many who submitted formal comments to the board requesting that they provide much stronger clarification as to how businesses would track the status of vaccinated vs. unvaccinated employees, among other points. The board directed the department to revise the proposed changes and bring them back to be in alignment with the June 15th date for restriction lifting the state is using. To make that timeframe, staff will have to produce the new language by this Friday, May 28, 2021. We will provide updates to this guidance as necessary.
