NAD Bank Summit 2025

The Chamber traveled to San Antonio, Texas late last month to attend North American Development Bank’s (NADBank) Annual Summit and hear about sustainable opportunities and challenges across  the U.S.-Mexico border and the need to collaborate across all three levels of government. For two days, the panel discussions focused on the need to invest in technology and infrastructure that mitigate water and energy scarcity. Agriculture was also a trending throughout the summit, including how AI can help support the needs of crops in a sustainable way that also addresses water drought concerns. Adding to previous year’s agenda, the summit expanded discussions to cover economic development and the need for private-public partnerships to support energy, water, and trade investments. Prominent speakers included former U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Tony Garza; Chihuahua Governor Maria Eugenia Campos; Abraham Zamora, President of SEMPRA Infraestructura; and NADBank’s Chief Environmental Officer Salvador Lopez.

The Chamber has long supported funding for the NADBank and its investment in our CaliBaja region, most recently joining them in Tecate with regional authorities as they consider water treatment projects that help ensure water quality and access for local communities.
