Earlier this month, Chamber members had a unique opportunity to meet with State Senator Anna Caballero (D-14) to discuss regional priorities. This included applauding Sen. Caballero’s efforts in leading Senate Bill 80, a fusion energy bill led by Chamber member General Atomics, and her previous efforts in authoring SB 1432 which would have extended the deadline for hospital buildings to comply with seismic safety standards in California. The conversation also covered budget priorities, Cap-and-Invest (formerly Cap-and-Trade), and efforts to address the cost of doing business in San Diego and across the State.

Chamber staff highlighted our annual delegation trip to Sacramento, and extended the invitation to Senator Caballero to join us in February to continue these important conversations on key issues including the future of energy and sustainability in California, the vitality of our healthcare sector, the rising cost of doing business in California, and how we can better recruit and retain a strong workforce in our state.
