This month, Chamber staff held three meetings with consular offices representing our San Diego region:
Chamber staff met with Dr. K.J. Srinivasa, Consul General of Consulate General of India in Los Angeles, and the first formally designated Consul General representing India across the western states. The meeting focused on strengthening economic ties between India and San Diego, with discussions centered on expanding collaboration in key growth sectors such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, life sciences, and other innovation-driven industries. The conversation highlighted shared opportunities to elevate business partnerships, attract investment, and foster cross-border innovation that benefits both regions.
A second meeting took place with Consul for Economic Affairs at the General Consulate of Japan in Los Angeles, Ryuta Suzuki. The Consular team will be back in San Diego next month to host a Japan Business Forum in partnership with World Trade Center San Diego. The event will take place on March 9th at the University Club and help connect with Japanese companies as they learn about investment and business opportunities in San Diego.
Finally, the newly appointed Consul General of Canada in Los Angeles, Silvie Bedard, joined this month’s IBA Forum with Tijuana Secretary of Economic Development, Pedro Montejo. Following the forum, the Chamber met with Consul Bedard and Secretary Montejo to touch base on USMCA efforts and collaboration to support trilateral trade within North America. The Chamber highlighted this year’s delegation to Washington, D.C., where USMCA and economic partnerships will continue to be a top priority.
