We are excited to announce that Meals on Wheels San Diego County will once again be hosting our largest annual fundraising event of the year, “Cheers to 60 Years” Diamond Anniversary Gala. The evening will feature renowned chefs from San Diego competing for the “Chefy” Award in the 11th Annual Chef Appetizer Competition. Guests will have a chance to taste all appetizers and vote for their favorite chef, while also enjoying live and silent auctions, entertainment and a full seated dinner.

The impact that Meals on Wheels has on the seniors we serve goes far beyond the wholesome meals provided. Daily friendly contact also provides important socialization for those who may be isolated with little or no connection to the outside world. Livers are often saved in the course of delivering meals when a person does not respond to a knock on the door, has fallen, or may have become ill. For 60 years, Meals on Wheels San Diego County has contributed to the overall well-being of seniors by providing regular nutrition and daily contact with a caring volunteer.
