Trinity Theatre Company Presents the World Premiere of LARPing
Growing San Diego Professional Theatre Brings a Fresh, Comedic Role Play to City Heights
Stage for a Limited Run November 11th-20th
Reviewers are invited to attend the opening performance of LARPing Friday, November
11th, 2022 at 7:00 p.m.
San Diego, CA – You are now at the center of Hollow’s heart. Britta is the Dungeon Master and
rolls to hit. John makes up songs about popcorn while breaking the rules. David sweats out a
dance for his dream girl. And Jenny blasts the best music at The North Pole. Which of these
characters are real? What is normal? What is play? And how brave are we–how vulnerable can
we get–in revealing who we are and what we need?
Trinity Theatre Company’s world premiere production of LARPing, written by Brian
Grace-Duff & Greg Romero and directed by Sean Boyd & Eddy Lukovic, addresses these
questions and more by taking its audience on a hilarious deep-dive into the world of Live Action
Role Play (LARP). The show will run November 11th-20th for six performances only at the
Community Actor’s Theatre in City Heights.
Beyond the playwriting team of Brian Grace-Duff & Greg Romero, the production team and
cast of LARPing is made up entirely of professional local talent. The play is directed by Sean
Boyd & Eddy Lukovic, with scenic design by Dennis Floyd, costume design by Rebecca
Rankin, lighting design by Dylan Carter & Ashley Malli, and prop creation by Bertha Tsai.
The show is stage managed by Kathy Parks, assistant stage managed by Adriana Cuba, with
intimacy consulting by Kandace Crystal. The cast consists of Kimberly Weinberger as
Britta/Jenny and Jonny Taylor as John/David.
“LARPing closely examines personal identity and self-exploration in a fresh, innovative way.
Brian and Greg have brilliantly crafted a theatrical experience that pushes its audience to reflect
on the possibilities and limits of their own identities and relationships through the lens of live
action roleplay,” said Sean Boyd, the Artistic Director of Trinity Theatre Company. “Not to
mention…it’s fun and it’s funny.”
LARPing opens on November 11th at the Community Actor’s Theatre in City Heights with
performances running through November 20th. Tickets can be purchased for $20 online at
