Chamber Welcomes U.S. Counsul General in Tijuana Christopher Teal

The Chamber welcomed new U.S. Consul General f in Tijuana, Christopher Teal, last weekIn this first meeting, the Chamber and Consul General Teal identified shared priorities including mitigating transboundary pollution impacting the Tijuana River Valley and our community, the completion of Otay Mesa East land port of entry on the U.S. side, supporting cross-border education and diplomatic, cultural, and economic ties between the U.S. and Mexico. In almost immediate joint efforts, the Chamber co-hosted a welcoming reception for the Consul General at his residence in Tijuana with the Truman Project, which included a stakeholder conversation with Tijuana’s business leaders and Truman Project delegates on immigration, the strain on regional resources to aid this vulnerable population, and efforts to integrate migrants into the community and economy on both sides of the border. The Chamber looks forward to ongoing collaboration to advance regional priorities with the U.S. Consulate in Tijuana under Consul General Teal’s leadership.
