Evan Strawn

Evan Strawn serves as Director of Public Affairs for the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, where he leads the Chamber’s city and state policy efforts and oversees a broad advocacy portfolio advancing the region’s economic competitiveness. In this role, Evan spearheads the Chamber’s state legislative strategy, bill sponsorship efforts, and provides testimony before city and state policymakers to elevate regional priorities. He also leads the Chamber’s annual delegation to Sacramento, working to strengthen relationships with state leaders and advance policies that support San Diego’s business community.

Evan oversees key policy areas including housing, land use, healthcare, technology, education, workforce development, and defense, military, and veteran affairs. He also oversees the Chamber’s Public Policy Committee, working closely with business members and stakeholders to develop and execute a robust, business-focused advocacy agenda.

Evan holds positions on various community organizations, including as a board member of Yes in my Backyard (YIMBY) Democrats of San Diego County, the Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) Community Advisory Committee, and the City of San Diego Development Services Department Technical Advisory Committee.

Prior to joining the Chamber, Evan worked as a Regulatory Operations Specialist at ECO ATM, overseeing multi-state business operations across 7 U.S. states. He also served as an intern for San Diego City Councilmember Barbara Bry, gaining firsthand experience in municipal policymaking and constituent engagement.

Evan earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Point Loma Nazarene University.
