Graciela Zamudio

Alma Migrante, A.C.

She is a Lawyer Specializing in International Human Rights Law, with more than sixteen years of experience in jurisdictional and non-jurisdictional institutions in Mexico and internationally, with skills mainly of inter-institutional linkage, in research, legal writing, analysis of complex legal problems, defense and direct dealing with victims. She holds a bachelor's degree from the Escuela Libre de Derecho in Mexico City, as well as a Master's Degree in International Law from the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom. She is a Specialist in Legal Argumentation by the University of Alicante of Spain, as well as in Law. Constitutional and Amparo by the National Autonomous University of Mexico. As for her academic work, she participated as a Postgraduate Professor at the National Autonomous University of Mexico for four years, before arriving in Tijuana, in matters of Arbitration and International Justice, as well as International Humanitarian Law, in addition to teaching the Chair of International Law of Human Rights at the Anahuac University of Mexico City. In relation to her professional experience we can highlight her participation as Administrative Officer, Judicial Actuary in the District Court and Project Secretary of the Collegiate Court in the Federal Judicial Power, for nearly a decade. The position mentioned last was held from 2004 to 2010. In addition to the above, she made professional visits to the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, as well as to the International Criminal Court in the years of 2010 and 2015, respectively. She also served as Deputy Visitor from 2011 to 2015 and since then as the Head of the Regional Office of the National Human Rights Commission in the State of Baja California, based in Tijuana. She is currently the Executive Director and Founder of ALMA Migrante, a Civil Association dedicated to strategic litigation based in the city of Tijuana.
