Jorge Goytortua
Cross Border Xpress (CBX)
Jorge Goytortua is the Chief Executive Officer of Cross Border Xpress (CBX), a binational pedestrian skybridge that connects a first-of-its-kind passenger building in San Diego directly to the Tijuana International Airport (TIJ). With more than 25 years of experience in the aviation and tourism industries, both operationally and commercially, Goytortua is responsible for overseeing profit generation, commercial revenues, facility operations, long-term sustainability, and master plan development to help shape the future of CBX. Jorge has a proven track record in efficiently working with governments, embassies, consulates, and tourism offices worldwide throughout his career. Prior to joining CBX, Jorge served as Senior Vice President of Global Sales for Grupo Aeroméxico where he developed the distribution strategy for travel industry partners, corporate accounts and government affiliates; managed commercial and institutional relationships; and represented the organization as its official spokesperson. In 2016, he was awarded the "Pochteca de Plata,” which is the highest recognition given by the Secretary of Tourism of Mexico City for his contribution to tourist development of the capital city. Jorge's professional profile and extensive industry experience have allowed him to hold membership in various industry-specific organizations over the years, including Chairman of the Airport Managers Committee in Manzanillo, Mexico; Vice President of the Airlines Association of Guadalajara; and Member of the Board of the United States–Mexico Chamber of Commerce, California Regional Chapter. He received his degree in business administration from the Universidad del Valle de Atemajac in Guadalajara, Jalisco, and earned diplomas in business from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), Tec de Monterrey and IPADE Business School.
