Wade Aschbrenner

Altus Schools

Wade is responsible for facilitating external communications and community outreach for Altus Schools. He is beginning his 10th year at Altus Schools and has over 20 years of educational experience. In 2015 the Charter School of San Diego was a recipient of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in Education, a first time for the award to be presented to a single school in its 28-year history. The Baldrige Award is the nation’s highest Presidential honor for performance excellence through innovation, improvement and visionary leadership. Wade presented at the Quest for Excellence Conference-National Baldrige Award Conference and at numerous regional conferences on the importance of process and system innovation. In 2017 he was the lead petitioner on two charter petitions authorized by the California State Board of Education. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from San Diego State University and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Central Michigan University. Wade is a member of Rotary Club of La Jolla, the California Charter School Association, the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, and is a lifetime member of the Aztec Alumni Association. His hobbies include golfing, watching his two teenagers play soccer, rugby, and lacrosse, and spending time on the beach in Carlsbad.
