ABOUT OUR HOST
Since 1980, San Diego’s Ronald McDonald House has been a place of healing and hope for families with a child in medical crisis. What began with just 8 rooms has grown into a lifeline for thousands of families each year and has become a vital partner in San Diego’s world-leading pediatric care. Thanks to community generosity and our Imagine the Moment campaign, we expanded from 57 to 82 guest rooms in July 2025, reducing our waitlist by half and opening our doors to many more families. And for those not staying overnight, our Family Care Center provides daytime respite just steps from the hospital. Yet our House is much more than rooms near the hospital. It’s peace of mind for parents who can reach their child’s side in moments. It’s space to play, breathe, cry, and heal together. It’s the comforts of home and life’s essentials—all free of charge.
San Diego’s Ronald McDonald House relies on community support. It is the only service of its kind that is open to families caring for children at any San Diego area hospital.
