The Meta Reality Labs site in San Diego was established in July 2022 to leverage the city’s strong tech ecosystem, including key suppliers located nearby, as well as a robust pipeline of engineering graduates from local universities. This strategic location enables efficient collaboration and ensures long-term access to talent and innovation leadership in AR/MR technologies for Meta’s devices portfolio. We have engineers on-site, primarily from two groups within Reality Labs (RL): the Wearables Product Group. At Meta, this team focuses on building next-generation AI-powered glasses and wristwear that deliver seamless, stylish, and context-aware experiences, creating a powerful constellation that shifts computing from phones to always-on wearable devices. Our Meta RL Teams in San Diego support the vision by developing and validating cutting-edge hardware and systems for both Wearables and Mixed Reality (MR) products, ensuring high quality, innovation, and seamless integration across Meta’s device ecosystem
