A Turning Point
Presented by LEAD San Diego in partnership with JONES
Our country has been under siege from a pandemic. More than 100,000 people have died – with African-American and LatinX communities bearing the brunt of these losses. Millions in our country are unemployed. Here in San Diego, unemployment is at nearly 30 percent.
With the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, and the protests that have risen up in cities across our country, the pain and frustration of so many people for so many years has reached a boiling point.
It is forcing some long-overdue reckoning when it comes to policing practices, systemic racism, and white supremacy.
It feels like our country is unraveling. It also feels like an opportunity. Could this be a turning point?
Join Elizabeth Fitzsimons of LEAD San Diego, Steven Jones, Ph.D. of JONES, and Starla Lewis, Mesa College Professor Emeritus and transformational speaker, to talk about what’s going on, and how we as leaders of teams, organizations, and families can step up and be part of the change our country needs.
