In October 2013, San Diego hosted dozens of international elected officials and business leaders at a three-day conference. The “Three Nations, Two Borders – One Economy”, hosted by the Chamber’s Mexico Business Center and the Department of Commerce, focused on high-level issues as it relates to:
- Partnerships aimed at developing a 21st century workforce,
- Ensuring North American energy sustainability through green technologies,
- Enhancing North American leadership in the aviation and aerospace industries; and
- Promoting North America as a global destination for business, commerce and tourism.
Marquee speakers and panelists include U.S. Secretary of Commerce, Penny Pritzker; former United Nations Ambassador Bill Richardson; San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria and Tijuana mayor-elect Dr. Jorge Astiazaran Orci.
