Earlier this month, Chamber staff joined PROBAJA’s trade and investment delegation to Mexico City. The initiative consists of the State of Baja’s Secretariat of Economic Development and the Tijuana, Ensenada, Mexicali, and Tecate EDC in a joint effort to promote investment across the state. This
marks the fifth year in a row that the Chamber joins this trade delegation to promote the CaliBaja region, visiting embassies, trade offices, and multinational businesses in Mexico City in order to promote investment opportunities, regional resources such as our local talent, and emerging sectors to together boost our economic and global competitiveness.
The agenda included conversations and presentations with the embassies of Switzerland, Canada, and the UK, and industries such as BIMBO, Bosch, and JLL. Top topic of interests included opportunities for talent growth, key sectors such as semiconductors, cleantech, agroindustry, and future investments coming to our region with the construction of the Punta Colonet Port south of Ensenada. In addition, the upcoming revision of the USMCA agreement and tariffs continues to be a priority.
